How to Add and Review Risks

Adding Risks and Reviewing Risks


Risk management is a very important part of cybersecurity. With the increasing number of threat actors in the cyber landscape, managing risks effectively is essential. This guide explains how to add and review risks in the Anove app.




Prerequisite: Risk Classifications

Before adding and reviewing risks, ensure you have Risk Classifications in place. If not, check out the respective articles.




Adding Risks


Follow these steps to add risks in the Anove app:


  1. Navigate to Tactical -> Risk Management and click Add



  1. Fill in the following fields:


  • Reference


  • Name

** **

  • Description


  • Owner


  1. Assign Gross Impact and Likelihood.

This determines the Gross Risk Score.


  1. Assign Gross Risk Quantification (the cost of the risk).


  1. Click on Add.


Congratulations! You have successfully added a risk! ✅




Reviewing Risks


Here’s how to review a risk:


  1. Navigate to Tactical -> Risk Management and click on the risk you want to review.


  1. Scroll down and click on Review.



  1. Fill in the following details:


  • Treatment


  • Net Likelihood


  • Net Impact


  • Net Quantification


  • Next Review Date


  1. (Optional) Add mitigating controls by clicking on Add


  1. (Optional) Add a comment.


  1. Click on Add.


You have now successfully reviewed a risk! ✅





Displaying Risks


On the dashboard, you’ll find visualizations of your risks, including:


  • Risk Heatmap showing gross/net risk.


  • Your total Risk Appetite.


Additionally, all risks are listed for easy reference.
